To the online launch on 19th April 2021, nearly 70 global, European and national leaders followed the invitation.
They represent some of the largest youth ministries in Europe (e.g. Youth for Christ, Josiah Venture, Youthscape, IFES, Exodus, PAIS, Steiger International, WEA Youth Commission, OM). In addition, we were joined by some personal friends and family.
It was absolutely wonderful to introduce LeadNow to some great friends and leaders and launching this in community among like-minded people is simply the best.
A special guest of honour was George Verwer (82), founder of Operation Mobilisation. He contributed with an inspiring short talk on “Don’t just live well – But finish well”, encouraging the leaders present to dig deep into Gods word, relying on God’s Spirt to lead us into action and ensure we pass on the passion and gifts God has given us, inspiring leaders across the nations to rise up and walk in their faith.
Though he gets older, he is as passionate about God and the world as ever. We also had Bob and Jilly Moffett, UK (mentors) contribute on servant leadership, while Nana Yaw from Ghana (Lausanne Movement) dedicated the new organisation to God. Chris Curtis (Youthscape) and Jim Brown (Exodus) from the UK and Sarah Breuel (IFES) from Italy gave some personal and organizational greetings. It was finished off with a blessing by Ole-Magnus Olafsrud from Norway (Lausanne).
Nana Yaw summed up the call so well: “My LeadNow launch reflection from all the sharing has left me with three personal inspiring challenges in my Christ following: to love Jesus deeply, lead well and bear fruit that lasts…for his glory!”
As a team we are totally grateful and excited about such a strong response and interest by many organisations and national youth networks. It surely is a dream come true as over the past few years we explored, prayed and waited to see how God would open the door to particularly invest in young leaders.
