Digital detox begins in the heart - why leadership needs breaks to stay present
Management in the digital age means constant accessibility, information overload and multitasking. But those who are constantly online can easily lose sight of the essentials: God's presence, genuine relationships and inner peace. The digital world offers many opportunities - but it also harbors dangers for our souls. Jesus himself repeatedly withdrew to pray and recharge his batteries: "But Jesus withdrew into solitude to pray" (Luke 5:16). If you want to lead, you have to switch off regularly - in your heart and on your device. Digital detox is not a trend, but a spiritual lifestyle. It's not about doing without technology, but about priorities: Who or what determines my day? Where do I refuel? John Mark Comer aptly says: "The Sabbath is an act of rebellion against the addiction to performance and possessions." Perhaps the most important leadership impulse of the week is not a clever post, but a quiet moment. Detox begins when I learn to say no - and yes to God's rhythm.
Book tip

John Mark Comer: Garden City: Work, Rest, and the Art of Being Human.
This little-known book offers a fascinating new perspective on the value of work - not as a duty, but as part of a greater divine vision. It invites us to rediscover the original rhythm of work and rest, mission and blessing.

Events that get you ahead
1 to 1 coaching
Instead of an event, how about some targeted coaching? Of course there are great events. But I need individual answers to my personal leadership questions. I experience this very strongly in personal 1-to-1 coaching. Maybe save yourself the next conference and invest the money in a good coach (Chris Pahl).
